  • Posts and maintains district accounting records, including capital projects and Federal and State grants.
  • Prepares entries necessary to close accounts at the end of the school year.
  • Prepares financial and statistical reports from accounting records.

HEALTH AND SAFETY COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST - BUSH EDUCATION CENTER009 MSC25/26

Full-Time (1.0 FTE), 8-Hour Day, 12 Month Competitive Civil Service Position

  • Performs all duties associated with an inspector, planner, and supervisor in accordance with AHERA regulations.
  • Conducts inspections of schools and auxiliary properties for compliance with AHERA regulations and in compliance with all SED regulations.
  • Conducts health and safety tests such as air quality, lead, and water testing.
  • Performs surveillance and general safety inspections for OSHA, AHERA and DOL compliance.
  • Contributes to the Health and Safety newsletters, collaborates with other Health and Safety personnel, stays current with trends by attending workshops and seminars related to the Health and Safety profession.
  • Makes regular routine inspections to observe potentially hazardous conditions and work practices.
  • Inspects accident and loss sites to determine causes.
  • Writes inspection reports.

Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 10 months per year, school calendar position

  • Knowledge and successful employment experience in the Criminal Justice field.
  • Be able to clearly articulate key concepts and support students with CJ vocabulary, report writing and ELA lessons, forensic science, NYS Penal Law, and CPL.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail; able to keep attendance, calculate grades, track student work hours, monitor classroom inventory, and maintain accurate records on a daily basis.
  • Willing to collaborate with the instructor and other campus staff to conduct complex lessons including reality-based training scenarios and student skill practice.
  • Demonstrate leadership; support chain of command within the classroom, able to demonstrate calm command presence during crisis/discipline situations and also offer kindness/ESL for students in need.

  • Provide juniors and seniors with rigorous and engaging classroom instruction, and hands-on skills that would prepare students to be college and career ready in the welding industry
  • Prepare students to be AWS (American Welding Society) Certified
  • Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, home school counselors and all others involved with the education of the student
  • Maintain discipline in the classroom and work sites
  • Monitor students’ academic progress including, but not limited to, progress/marking period grades, attendance, hands-on performance skills

*NOTE: Students may have behavioral management needs and/or social and emotional needs.  The teacher must be physically able and willing to meet the academic, emotional and physical needs of all students within the classroom.  Which may consist of the following: heavy lifting (50 lbs or more), physical interventions, feeding, assisting with toileting, diapering, physical restraints, escorting, behavior management plans, getting up and down from the floor and walking with the students.  TCI is required for all Special Education Teaching positions.

Substitute cleaners are needed for all GST BOCES campuses to work on an on-call, as needed basis.  This is an all year position.  The shift is generally 3 p.m. - 11 p.m. with some flexibility.

  • May tend the furnace
  • May be required to perform minor maintenance tasks such as unskilled painting or carpentry
  • May be required to replace lights, hang window shades and Venetian blinds
