Part-time (.5 FTE), 4-Hour Day, 12-Month Position. First Shift: 5:00 am - 9:00 am

The following work activities are listed as examples only and in no event shall an employee be limited to only those examples listed here:

  • Dust, vacuum, sweep
  • Wash windows, walls, woodwork, water closets, tubs and bowls
  • Gather and dispose of refuse
  • Uses heavy mechanical equipment to strip, polish and wax floors
  • May open and secure buildings
  • May varnish, shellac and polish furniture and brass
  • May tend the furnace
  • May be required to perform minor maintenance tasks such as unskilled painting or carpentry
  • May be required to replace lights, hang window shades and Venetian blinds
  • Carry out all other duties as assigned

 

 

 

ADULT EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR - APPEARANCE ENHANCEMENT (BARBERING/COSMETOLOGY)092 ADT25/26

Per Diem/Temporary Position, Hourly Employee                                             

  • Perform all duties associated with the development and implementation of the trade
  • Assist the Administrator and Program Specialist/Coordinator in maintaining state-of-the-art curriculum
  • Prepare class lessons and lab/shop/clinic projects for the practical application of the curriculum
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and student progress
  • Prepare tests and performance evaluations for students at the completion of each unit of instruction
  • Provide for supplies needed in program - textbooks, supplies, material, equipment necessary for the implementation of the program
  • Work with Adult Education support staff in meeting the placement needs, instructional needs, and employment needs of each student
  • Become knowledgeable of the Council on Vocational Education's requirements to maintain GST BOCES' accreditation status
  • Establish and/or maintain contacts within the local business community to ensure conformity with current and meaningful curriculum, practical skills, and business hiring practicies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator

 

CLINICAL NURSING INSTRUCTOR; ADULT ED - CONTINUOUS RECRUITINGADT: INSTR/CLINIC NURSING - CR

Per-Diem, Temporary Position, Hourly Employee

  • Provides supervision and hands on training to Practical Nursing students at various clinical sites throughout the region;
  • Responsible for ensuring the fulfillment of clinical goals and objectives of the Practical Nursing program;
  • Creates a clinical/lab environment which fosters students' academic growth and guides their professional development;
  • Supports students by providing demonstration of clinical skills in relation to theory, encourages critical thinking, and acts as a mentor/role model to the students;
  • Evaluates students' competence based upon the program philosophy and objectives;
  • Exemplifies professionalism and acts as the standard for students throughout the Practical Nursing program and once the students enter the field after graduation;
  • Acts as a liaison between GST BOCES and clinical site;
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the program coordinator.
