LOCATION:  GRANT SERVICES DEPARTMENT, WASHINGTON SCHOOL BUILDING, ELMIRA, NY

Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 7.5 hours per day, 12 months per year

  • Supervises the verifying and reconciling of a number of account balances according to a prescribed procedure—monitors and manages complex local, State, and Federal grant budgets;
  • Reviews and checks complex account keeping records and reports for arithmetical and clerical accuracy, completeness and proper extension;
  • Compiles data for and analyzes complex financial budgets and reports to prepare budget projections for reconciliation meetings with Grants Team for all assigned grants; works directly with other  departments to resolve any issues;
  • Reviews and classifies a variety of invoices and expenditures and distributes items according to a prescribed procedure;
  • Assists Grants Team with competitive and non-competitive grant budget development, budget adjustments, and grant application and budget review for component school districts; 
  • Facilitates contract execution for purchased service agreements upon grant award;
  • Reviews payroll reports and grant budgets for accuracy, making recommendations for adjustments and communicating changes to appropriate departments;
  • Works with District staff to prepare and submit required reports;
  • Conducts routine correspondence on matters where policies and procedures are well-defined;
  • Operates personal computer, copier, computing, calculator, and other office machines; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
ACCOUNT CLERK - CBO21 MSC 22

Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 7.5 hours per day, 12 months per year

  • Handle and post various cash receipts;
  • Meet the public and answer routine requests for information;
  • Perform routine filing, clerical and account keeping tasks;
  • Operate a personal computer, copier, calculator and other office machines;
  • Review and process all departmental requests for purchase orders and order supplies;
  • Data input;
  • Sort mail;
  • Perform other duties or projects as may be assigned from time to time.

 

ACCOUNTANT - SCHOOL25 MSC22

LOCATION:  Central Business Office, Bush Education Center, Building 11

DESCRIPTION:  Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 8 hours per day, 12 months per year

  • Posts and maintains district accounting records;
  • Prepares entries necessary to close accounts at the end of the school year;
  • Prepares financial and statistical reports from accounting records;
  • Prepares state aid reports;
  • Records and posts summary accounting records on a personal computer;
  • Keeps records of receipts and expenditures and allocates receipts to proper funds;
  • Maintains bond and debt service register and oversees the management of bond retirement;
  • Acts as liaison with district independent auditors;
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNT CLERK - GRANT SERVICES24 ISC21

LOCATION:  GRANT SERVICES, WASHINGTON SCHOOL BUILDING, ELMIRA, NY

Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 7.5 hours per day, 12 months per year

  • Monitors, manages, and reconciles a number of grant account balances according to a prescribed procedure;
  • Reviews and classifies a variety of invoices, purchase orders, operational cost records, and reports in accordance with prescribed procedures;
  • Supervises the work of assistants engaged in clerical and accounting activities;
  • Checks account keeping records and reports for arithmetical and clerical accuracy and completeness;
  • Supervises the auditing of bills and the preparation/processing of vouchers for payment;
  • Assists the Grants Team with grant budget review and development;
  • Interprets changes in rules and procedures to subordinates and program staff;
  • Writes correspondence;
  • May prepare financial statements, budget projections, and reports;
  • May set up spreadsheets or ledger accounts of funds.
  • Operates a personal computer, copier, computing, calculating, and other office equipment;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
