THIS IS A COMPETITIVE CIVIL SERVICE POSITION.  The selected employee must be among the top three after taking the required exam.

Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 7.5 hours per day, 12 months per year                                         

  • Researches products for purchase by maintaining vendor lists and catalogs;
  • Reviews departmental requisitions and budget requests for the purchase of equipment, supplies, and services;
  • Maintains a system for tracking purchase orders, vendors, and other pertinent information related to purchasing;
  • Issues inventory ID tags and maintains appropriate records
  • Conducts routine correspondence on matters where policies and procedures are well-defined
  • Works with vendors and departments in processing purchase orders and requisitions
  • Verifies and reconciles a number of account balances according to a prescribed procedure
  • Responsible for data entry of inventory records and retrieval of records information;
  • Prepares routine reports of information taken from journal or ledger
  • May compile and prepare labor, material and operational cost records and reports
  • Operates personal computer, copier, computing, calculator, and other office machines
  • Assists with bid openings, keeping appropriate records and recording bids at public bid openings in accordance to New York State Laws and county policy;
  • Compiles data for, and prepared and analyzes complex financial and statistical records and reports
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SENIOR ACCOUNT CLERK - ACCOUNTS PAYABLE061 CA25/26

THIS IS A COMPETITIVE CIVIL SERVICE POSITION.  The selected employee must be among the top three after taking the required exam.

Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 7.5 hours per day, 12 months per year                                         

  • Classifies a variety of receipts and expenditures and distributes items according to a prescribed procedure.
  • Reviews and checks complex account keeping records and reports for arithmetical and clerical accuracy, completeness and proper extension.
  • Conducts routine correspondence on matters where policies and procedures are well-defined.
  • Verifies and reconciles of a number of account balances according to a prescribed procedure.
  • Receives invoices by mail, verifies amount, and pays invoices.                                  
  • Prepares routine reports of information taken from journal or ledger.  
  • May compile and prepare labor, material and operational cost records and reports.
  • Operates personal computer, copier, computing, calculator, and other office machines.
  • Compiles data for, and prepared and analyzes complex financial and statistical records and reports.
  • Assist with recording of cashed receipts
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
