  • Responsible for implementation, integration and daily operations of the library automation systems. Provide telephone and email support with subscribing districts for library software support.
  • Compiles statistics for reports.
  • Facilitates interlibrary loan requests and maintains electronic interlibrary loan and overdue records. Creates and maintains MARC records for the School Library System and original cataloging for the School Library Systems and districts as needed.
  • Assists district staff with cataloging standards, classification, database maintenance, and record importing.
  • Provides library software troubleshooting and support.
  • Maintains and distributes online database login/passwords annually. Communicates regularly with vendors and end users.
  • Provides support to the School Library Coordinator in preparing district budgets. Completes purchase orders for all districts (online databases, CCD).
  • Supports the School Library System Coordinator as needed.
  • Assists in preparing for library workshops and professional learning. Place, receive, and distribute CCD orders.
  • Support the purchase, loans and returns of school library system materials. Performs other reasonable duties as required.

LOCATION: Print Shop, Elmira, NY

Full-time (1.0 FTE) 8-hour day, 12 month Non-Competitive Civil Service position

  • Operates multiple photo copiers per job order specifications.
  • May be required to operate typesetting computers, wide format printers and other electronic devices.
  • Corrects proofs and checks copy for mistakes.
  • Maintains equipment with routine type maintenance.
  • Requests servicing of equipment from supervisor when needing repair.
  • Operates all bindery equipment, folders, cutters, joggers, collator, padder, coiler, and comb binding machines.
  • May punch, fold, staple, collate or do any other bindery operation necessary to complete product.
  • Accurately records time, materials, and any other factors in completing jobs, which may affect quality, price, or timeof finished product.
  • Operates bulk mailing equipment.
  • Assists in other areas of finishing as needed.
  • Provides information to supervisor for final costing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
ACCOUNTANT - SCHOOL; CBO14 CBO24

Full-time (1.0 FTE), 8 hour day, 12 month position

  • Posts and maintains district accounting records, including capital projects and Federal and State grants.
  • Prepares entries necessary to close accounts at the end of the school year.
  • Prepares financial and statistical reports from accounting records.
  • Prepares state reports.
  • Records and posts summary accounting records on a personal computer.
  • Keeps records of receipts and expenditures and allocates receipts to proper funds.
  • Assists with preparation of cash flow records.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 7.5 hours per day, 12 months per year

  • Classifies a variety of receipts and expenditures and distributes items according to a prescribed procedure
  • Reviews and checks complex account keeping records and reports for arithmetical and clerical accuracy, completeness, and proper extension
  • Conducts routine correspondence on matters where policies and procedures are well-defined
  • Works with vendors and departments in processing purchase orders and payments
  • Verifies and reconciles several account balances according to a prescribed procedure
  • Receives invoices by mail, email, or fax, verifies amount, and pays invoices
  • Voids and re-issues checks as needed
  • Prepares routine reports of information taken from journal or ledger
  • May compile and prepare labor, material and operational cost records and reports
  • Operates personal computer, copier, computing, calculator, and other office machines
  • Compiles data for, and prepared and analyzes complex financial and statistical records and reports
  • Assist with recording of cash receipts
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
