OUR DISTRICT

Approximately 1,047 pre-kindergarten through twelfth-grade students are served in Addison’s three school buildings by 234 long-term dedicated staff members (123 instructional). Valley Early Childhood School serves our PreK students. Tuscarora Elementary houses our students in grades K-5. Students in grades 6-8 and 9-12 attend our Middle High School.
The 2023-24 operating budget for the Addison Central School District is $35,603,118. The true value tax rate per $1,000 is $15.30. The school district receives 78.8 cents in state aid for every $1.00 spent.
The district has undergone major facility additions and renovations to provide students with 21st century academics and athletics through a phased-approach long-term facilities plan. Phase I included $28.4 million in work and was completed in 2011. Phase II included $22.9 million in work and was completed in 2016. Phase III included $22.9 million in work and was completed in 2020. Phase IV, our Capstone Project, includes $23.9 million in work and is expected to be completed in September 2024.

 

DISTRICT HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Valley Early Childhood School building is dedicated to the full-day Pre-Kindergarten program for the district’s three- and four-year-old children.
  • A separate and distinct middle school program.
  • We have fully implemented a digital conversion where every student has access to an electronic device as we focus on developing digital learners. This implementation has and continues to transform teaching and learning.
  • Extensive college offerings include 20 ACE courses.
  • The district provides a wide variety of extracurricular activities and athletics, including STEAM activities at the elementary level.
  • Our expanded course offerings include Lego Robotics, Design and Drawing for Production (DDP), Introduction to Engineering and Computer Applications I and II.
  • Historically, graduation rates exceed the state average.
  • Our district has surpassed New York State goals for college and career readiness.
  • Our strong partnerships with area agencies, including the Addison Youth Center and ProAction (Jennie Mose Family Resource Center) expand our opportunities to provide quality programming for Pre-K through twelfth-grade students.
  • Along with many students attending a variety of CTE programs off campus, the district is supported by GST BOCES in the following areas: Central Business Office Services, Management Services, Instructional Support, Computer Services and Special Education.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR25 ADT24

Full-time (1.0 FTE), 8-hour day, 12-month position

  • Coordinates all Career Development Council Program activities
  • Supervises and evaluates CDC staff
  • Directs and Coordinates CDC Board
  • Develops and manages budget; both CoSer funding and not-for-profit funding
  • Maintains database of resources
  • Teams with Business and Industry partners
  • Researches, writes, and manages grants to support/expand CDC programs
  • Initiates and coordinates a continuum of school-to-school work program experiences
  • Understands and promotes liaison between Education and Business and Industry
  • Actively involved in community; serves on regional committees
  • Provides districts with reports and data, as needed
  • Carry out all other duties as assigned

 

REGIONAL CRISIS TEAM - PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES09 ISS24

Stipend Position: 12-month calendar year

Regional Crisis Team (RCT) PLC Leader, School Year 2023-2024 

  • Provide guidance, support, and facilitation to fellow crisis team members through regularly scheduled meetings.
  • Successful communication skills when communicating information regarding crisis deployments.
  • Regularly recruit and orient teams with the process and procedures of RCT.
  • Orient the region to RCT resources, guidelines, and expectations.
  • Commitment to individual professional growth and continued learning and actively seeking our research-based counseling strategies and techniques that support the success of all students.
  • Complete the PLC log including time, date and topic covered. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 
REGIONAL COUNSEL LEADER - PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES10 ISS24

Stipend Position: 12-month calendar year

2024 REGIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL PRINCIPAL(S)22 CTE24

Full-time (1.0 FTE), 8-hour day, July 8, 2024, through August 23, 2024, with prep work involved immediately upon hire.

  • Responsible for the supervision of personnel and students
  • Responsible for assisting with hiring of all positions
  • Maintain compliance with Federal and State Education regulations
  • Responsible for student discipline within program
  • Responsible for public relations
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with teachers, students, district administrators, parents, and community agencies
  • Communicate with administrators, staff, and parents on a regular basis
  • Demonstrates effective leadership skills
  • Demonstrates knowledge of graduation requirements, testing requirements, curriculum, technology
  • Perform all other job duties as assigned

START DATE: March/April.  There will be preparatory work prior to the actual dates of Summer School Session.

PRINCIPAL, CTE: WILDWOOD EDUCATION CENTER13 CTE24

Full-time (1.0 FTE) 8 hour day, 12 month position

  • Embodies an energetic and highly motivated work ethic needed to lead the design, development, and overall supervision of the Wildwood Campus.
  • Knowledgeable and has experience with instructional technology, inquiry/project-based learning, and interdisciplinary learning.
  • Supervision of the Career and Technical Education Programs and the Alternative Education Program.
  • Responsible for the recruitment process including placement, ongoing district communication/training, and evaluation of student enrollment.
  • Leads in the drive of exceptional student outcomes and embodies a deep personal commitment and dedication to working with students and their families.
  • Responsible for the evaluation of student progress, and performance within the program.
  • Leads in curriculum development and professional learning on the Wildwood campus.
  • Responsible for the supervision of personnel.
  • Responsible for the student discipline.
  • Responsible for the overseeing of the care of the facilities and equipment.
  • Responsible for the business and fiscal management including assistance to the Director in preparing the budget for the Center and management of the budget and administrations of required business forms for purchasing.
  • Responsible for public relations for the Center.
  • Carries out other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
