Job Description

LOCATION:    Hornell Host Site

DESCRIPTION:  Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 8 hours per day, 12 months per year

• Responsible for the supervision of personnel and students
• Maintain compliance with federal and state special education regulations
• Responsible for student discipline within program and leading the staff with proactive behavioral management techniques
• Responsible for the fiscal management of the program including assistance to the Director in preparing the budget
• Responsible for public relations
• Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with teachers, students, district administrators, parents, and community agencies
• Communicate with administrators in component districts, staff, and parents on regular basis
• Demonstrate effective leaderships skills
• Demonstrates knowledge of Special Education regulations, specially designed instruction, graduation requirements, state testing requirements, common core curriculum, technology, transition services for students with disabilities
• Ability to lead/train other administrators
• Perform all other job duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

Valid NYS Certification in School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS) or School Building Leader (SBL)

• Strong educational leadership in the areas of curriculum, program development and assessment;
• Demonstrated success in promoting student achievement;
• Decision making skills and communication skills are significant to the job;
• Candidate must be knowledgeable of best practices in Special Education instruction, specially designed instruction, behavior management of students with disabilities and the general education curriculum;
• Candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to function effectively as a team member and work collaboratively;

SALARY RANGE:    Salary is dependent upon related work experience.  Plus comprehensive benefit package.
