Job Description

DESCRIPTION: Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 7.5 hours per day; 12 month position

  • Assist the Library & Instructional Technology Supervisor with planning and managing the Library Automation Service;
  • Consult with subscribing school districts for library automation systems;
  • Train subscribing districts’ staff on effective use of the library automation system(s);
  • Install and troubleshoot library automation system(s)
  • Train all library personnel or other instructional staff in the use of Mandarin software and online databases;
  • Assist the Library & Instructional Technology Supervisor with the merger of the School Library System’s database;
  • Provide workshops and presentations to client school districts;
  • Provide telephone support services for client school district personnel;
  • Perform microcomputer processing functions necessary to output, process and load catalog records for automation service;
  • Receives and logs participants’ hardware and software related problems, and assists Library & Instructional Technology Supervisor in finding the best solution for the participant;
  • Processes retrospective conversion as needed;
  • Facilitates inter-library loan requests and maintains electronic inter-library loan records;
  • Expedites and prepares reports as needed;
  • Related tasks as assigned.

 

 

Job Qualifications
  1. Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Executive Secretarial Science or a related field and two (2) years of experience using computer software applications in a library setting OR
  2. Graduation from High School or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma and four (4) years of experience using computer software applications in a library setting

Salary:  Dependent upon related work experience.  Plus comprehensive benefits package.
