Job Description

Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 7.5 hours per day, 12 months per year

Work involves supporting the procurement and monitoring of public and private competitive and non-competitive grant funds for participating school districts. Responsibility for a high degree of accuracy in the compilation, maintenance, and checking of financial accounts and records, and in the performance of related clerical tasks. Ability to manage tasks with multiple deadlines. Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing and checking payroll vouchers and purchase orders for accuracy;
  • Entering fiscal data into journal accounts;
  • Verifying and reconciling account balances according to a prescribed procedure;
  • Classifying receipts and expenditures and distributing costs according to prescribed code;
  • Checking account keeping records for completeness, accuracy, and proper extension;
  • Compiling data for and helping in the preparation of financial and statistical reports;
  • Preparing and monitoring FedEx forms, labels, and mailings;
  • Monitoring and maintaining log-in and password renewals for electronic grant submissions;
  • Meeting the public and maintaining office coverage;
  • Answering phone calls and responding to routine requests for information;
  • Performing routine office filing, clerical, proofreading, and account keeping tasks;
  • Preparing and distributing team meeting agendas and meeting minutes;
  • Operating personal computer, copier, calculating, and other office equipment;
  • Managing tasks with multiple deadlines; and
  • Carrying out all other duties as assigned, including delivery or pick up of grant documents from school districts, as requested.

Job Qualifications

This is a competitive Civil Service position. The selected candidate must possess this title, or be among the top three after taking the required Civil Service exam for this title.

        (A) Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and completion of a business certificate program that includes coursework in accounting; or

        (B) Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and one (1) year of clerical experience which shall have involved maintaining and checking financial accounts and records.

 

Salary:  Per Support Staff Association contract.  Plus comprehensive benefits package.
