Job Description

ONGOING RECRUITMENT FOR SUBSTITUTE CLEANERS

LOCATION:                          Greater Southern Tier BOCES Region

Substitute cleaners are needed for all GST BOCES campuses to work on an on-call, as needed basis.  The shift is generally 3 p.m. - 11 p.m. with some flexibility.

DESCRIPTION:                    12 month calendar

The following work activities are listed as examples only and in no event shall an employee be limited to only those examples listed here:

• Dust, vacuum, sweep
• Wash windows, walls, woodwork, water closets, tubs and bowls
• Gather and dispose of refuse
• Uses heavy mechanical equipment to strip, polish and was floors
• May open and secure buildings
• May varnish, shellac and polish furniture and brass
• May tend the furnace
• May be required to perform minor maintenance tasks such as unskilled painting or carpentry
• May be required to replace lights, hang window shades and Venetian blinds

• Carry out all other duties as assigned

 

 

Job Qualifications

 ● New York State DMV driver’s license with experience driving a large van or commercial vehicle

 ● Pleasant attitude; friendly; ability to work well with others

 ● Ability to lift 50-100 pounds; good physical condition

 ● Ability to follow routine and maintain delivery schedule

  ● Dependability

 

Salary:  $11.10/HOUR
