Job Description

LOCATION:    CAMPBELL-SAVONA CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

Our District

The Campbell-Savona Central School District was formed in 1992 as a result of a merger between the former Campbell and Savona Central School Districts. The District presently has an enrollment of approximately 814 students on two campuses, with the PreK to Grade 6 Elementary School located on a 23-acre campus in Savona and the Grade 7-12 Junior-Senior High School located on a 54-acre campus in Campbell. The administrative team includes a superintendent, director of managment services, director of special education, director of curriculum and instruction, two building-level principals and two building-level assistant principals. The school facilities have been updated on an ongoing basis. Our buildings and grounds have been well-maintained with both students and staff respecting and taking pride in our “home away from home.”

The Elementary School has a traditional self-contained program for Grades PreK-4, with a full-day prekindergarten and kindergarten. Instruction for fifth and sixth grade is delivered via a team of teachers in a departmentalized structure. Teachers, along with support staff, emphasize both basic and advanced skills to prepare every child for success in a 21st century world.

At the Junior-Senior High School, approximately 350 students take classes from a listing of 56 courses in grades 9-12. Students also have an opportunity to take 12 college credit-bearing courses offered through Corning, Jamestown and Tompkins-Cortland Community Colleges. We boast a district graduation rate of 90 percent on the most recent NYS District Report Card with approximately 60 percent of our graduating seniors going on to higher education.

The school community is supported by several active organizations including the Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization, the Junior-Senior High Parent-Teacher-Student Organization and the Campbell-Savona Booster Club, an organization that supports all extracurricular activities within the school community.

The 2020-21 operating budget for the Campbell-Savona Central School District is $22,389,399. The true value tax rate per $1,000 is $17.02.

Our Community
Our district is located in southern Steuben County in the Southern Tier of New York. Jasper-Troupsburg is a rural community that is within easy travel distance to the cities of Corning and Elmira, as well as the Finger Lakes Region.

Residents and visitors alike enjoy recreational activities such as boating, skiing, hunting, fishing and hiking. Other attractions include the Corning Museum of Glass, Rockwell Museum, the Watkins Glen Gorge and Letchworth State Park.

Opportunities for advanced education are available at the State Universities of New York (SUNY) at Alfred and Geneseo, Alfred University, Corning Community College and Elmira College. These colleges are all within an hour drive.
