Full-time (1.0 FTE), 7-hour day, 10-month, school calendar position

• Collaborate with Cosmetology Instructors to maintain high-quality Career and Technical Education programs.
• Assist with providing supervision, classroom management, and student support in classroom, laboratory, and clinical learning environments.
• Assist students in developing technical, employability, and professional skills aligned with industry standards.
• Assist in monitoring students' academic and technical skill progress, including attendance, classroom performance, and hands-on competencies.
• Assist with implementing 504 Accommodation Plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
• Assist with maintaining a safe, organized, and productive learning environment, including the proper use of equipment, tools, and materials.
• Communicate and collaborate with instructors, administrators, parents, counselors, and other stakeholders to support student success.
• Keep current with changes and developments in the Cosmetology Industry.
• Uphold the GST BOCES core values of Service, Collaboration, Leadership, and Integrity.

Job Qualifications

Valid NYS Teaching Assistant Certification; must possess or be eligible to obtain at least a Level 1 Teaching Assistant Certificate

• Valid New York State Teaching Assistant Certification or eligibility to obtain at least a Level I Teaching Assistant Certificate.
• Experience in Cosmetology is preferred.
• New York State Cosmetology License required.
• Experience working in a salon, spa, or related industry setting preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with secondary students in both classroom and hands-on learning environments.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skill
