Full-time (1.0 FTE); 8.0 hour day; 12 month position

  • Designs and delivers evidence-based professional learning aligned to GST BOCES regional priority areas, component district professional learning plans and technology plans, and key NYSED initiatives (e.g. NYS Inspires, Portrait of a Graduate, STEPS plans, and other related guidance).
  • Serves, when requested, in the role of Exceptional Education Chairperson, facilitating Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings to ensure compliance with NYSED regulations and supporting the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPS), and collaborating with families, staff, and related service providers to ensure equitable and appropriate services to students.
  • Supports districts and the region in implementing educational initiatives to support and improve educator practice and student outcomes.
  • Uses technology to enhance collaboration with colleagues and improve student outcomes
  • Integrates Social Emotional Learning and Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Framework principles into all facets of work.
  • Collaborates and co-plans with BOCES, component district staff, and consultants to build a shared vision, clarify short-term objectives, and measure progress using common success criteria.
  • Analyzes, disseminates, and applies pertinent SED guidance and updates.
  • Supervises and evaluates staff under APPR regulations, as requested by component districts.
  • Assists districts with data-informed instructional decision making and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Supports component district teacher mentoring programs in alignment with the NYS Teacher Standards and district expectations.
  • Attends Regional Instructional Leaders and NYSED/SCDN meetings, as needed or appropriate.
  • Requires travel across the GST region and to Albany/Saratoga Springs, NY on occasion.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications

 Valid New York State Certification in School District Administrator

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in teaching and/or school administration
  • Certified as Lead Evaluator or willing to become certified.
