Job Description

Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 7.0 hours per day, 10 months per year, school calendar

• Provide juniors and seniors with rigorous and engaging classroom instruction, project-based learning, and hands-on skills that would prepare students to be college and career ready in the Auto Tech industry
• Prepare students for the national assessment in ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) student certification in Maintenance and Light Repair
• Collaborate with counterpart Auto Tech instructors on the direction of the program
• Monitor students' academic progress including, but not limited to progress/ marking period grades, attendance, hands-on performance skills
• Implement 504 plans and IEPs (Individualized Education Plans) for students with diverse learning needs
• Keep current with changes and developments in the Auto Tech industry
• Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, home school counselors and all others involved with the education of all students
• Maintain discipline in the classroom and work sites
• Uphold the BOCES core values: service, collaboration, leadership, and integrity
• Carry out all other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

Valid NYS Teaching Assistant Certification Preferred

• Extensive experience with Auto Tech is required
• Ability to handle heavy lifting
• Experience, willingness, and ability to work with secondary students in both classroom and various hands-on settings
• Excellent communication skills and work ethic
   
  SALARY:   Per Educational Association contract.  Plus comprehensive benefit package.
