Job Description

Full-Time (1.0 FTE)

• 7 hours per day, 10 months per year, school calender 
• Instructing secondary students in the area of Fashion Design, Merchandising & Marketing
• Educate students in fashion design, pattern making and garment construction
• Assist students in the techniques and technical skills of sketch design of clothing, footwear and accessories
• Monitoring student progress
• Maintaining discipline in the classroom and work sites
• Carry out all other duties as assigned by Administration

Job Qualifications

Valid NYS Teaching Assistant Certification

• Background in Fashion Design and/or Merchandising & Marketing preferable
• Work experience in Merchandising & Marketing or Retail is preferable
• Work experience in Fashion Design and Production is preferable
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and creating Tech Packs
• Proficiency in patternmaking and sewing (hand-sewing and machine)
• Proficiency in draping
• Knowledge of a wide variety of fabrics and their properties
• Experience and understanding of retail operations and customer service
• Experience and understanding of all aspects of apparel merchandising
• Experience in organizing, planning, and staging a Fashion Show
• Artistic creativity, technical precision, nurturing nature, ability to multitask, organized
