Job Description

Full-time position, 7.0 hours per day, 10 months per year, school calendar

• Assist with instructing students in Culinary skills;
• Maintain classroom; supervise students;
• Assist with rigorous and engaging classroom instruction, and hands-on skills that will prepare students to graduate;
• Assist with providing supervision and classroom management to all students;
• Assist in monitoring students’ academic progress including, but not limited to, progress/marking period grades and attendance;
• Keep current with changes and developments in education;
• Assist in communicating regularly with parents, teachers, home school counselors and all others involved with the education of all students;
• Uphold the BOCES’ core values: service, collaboration, leadership, and integrity;
• Carry out all other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

VALID NYS Teaching Assistant Certification; must possess at least a Level 1 Teaching Assistant Certificate

• Experience, willingness and ability to work with secondary students in both classroom and various hands-on settings

• Excellent communication skills and work ethic

 

SALARY:  Per Educational Association contract.  Plus comprehensive benefit package.
