Job Description

Long-Term Substitute Physical Education Teacher

• Provide physical education instruction to GST BOCES special education students located in the Horseheads School District and the Elmira City School District. 
• Flexible and creative execution of lessons in structure, setting, grading, and content.
• Some students have behavioral management needs and/or special needs.
• Administer assessments to gauge the strengths and skills of the students.
• Assist secondary students in developing appropriate learning attitudes.
• Maintain discipline during physical education.
• Collaborate with counterpart PE instructors on the direction of the program.
• Uphold the BOCES’ Values: Service, Collaboration, Leadership, and Integrity
• Carry out all other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Valid NYS Physical Education Certification preferred

CPR and First Aid certificates required.
