Job Description

Full-Time (1.0 FTE), 7-Hr day, 10- Month School Calendar Year

• Assist with instructing secondary students in Building Construction
• Assist with monitoring student progress
• Assist with maintaining discipline in the classroom and work sites
• Manage and maintain supplies for construction projects
• Ability to handle heavy lifting and willingness to work outside
• Experience, willingness, and ability to work with secondary students in both classroom and various hands-on settings
• Excellent communication skills and work ethic
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, focus on error-free work, and follow up to ensure tasks are complete
• Ability to work independently and seek assistance as needed
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Carry out all other duties as assigned by the teacher and the Principal

Job Qualifications

Valid NYS Teaching Assistant Certification; must possess at least a Level 1 Teaching Assistant Certificate; possession of the following certificates helpful Valid NYS Certification in Carpentry 7-12

• Extensive experience with Building Trades is required
• Experience in residential home buildings, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, roofing, and drywall 
• Experience with computers preferred
