Job Description

FULL-TIME, 8-HOUR DAY, 12 MONTH PER YEAR POSITION

Full-time (1.0 FTE), 8-hour day, 12-month position

  • Responsible for the overall operation and direction of the Center’s technology function including the strategic design, acquisition, management and implementation of the technology infrastructure and technology-related services to meet district/customer changing needs.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining technology standards necessary for a regional and centrally managed IT function and ensuring compliance with federal/state laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Develop and manage the Center’s budget and multiple service budgets.
  • Oversee the development of Disaster Recovery Planning, Systems Security and Cyber Security Plans to ensure the safe access and storage of district/customer data and information.
  • Participate with the New York State Education Department in planning and developing technology services for educational purposes.
  • Serve as one of twelve Directors on the statewide Regional Information Center Directors Council
  • Serve as a member of the GST BOCES Cabinet
  • Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations, including directing/managing/evaluating programmers/Web developers, testing/data collection staff, technology coordinators and Center supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications

New York State certification as School District Leader, School District Administrator, School District Business Leader, or School Business Administrator

  • Thorough knowledge of information technology systems, procedures, networking, telecommunications, and applications.
  • Thorough knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of management.
  • Ability to plan, organize and supervise the work of others, strong leadership, and communication skills.

 

OR

 

Meet the following Competitive Civil Service requirements:

  1. Possession of a Master’s Degree and two  (2)  years  of  management, supervisory or administrative experience in computer services; or
  2. Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a Baccalaureate Degree and four (4) years of management, supervisory or administrative experience in computer services.

 

SALARY RANGE: Dependent upon related work experience.  Plus a comprehensive benefit package.
