TEACHER - ANIMAL SCIENCE70 CTE24

Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 7.0 hours per day, 10 months per year, school calendar

  • Instruct 11th and 12th grade students in basic knowledge and skills of Animal Science (e.g., care of small animals; handling, grooming, cleaning, feeding; exotic animal husbandry; anatomy and physiology of small animals; various diseases and how to recognize them; understanding environmental rules,  codes and safety requirements for housing and caring for small animals; various parasites and treatments)
  • Provide students with rigorous and engaging instructional strategies within the classroom and develop hands-on skills
  • Implement 504 plans and IEPs (Individualized Educational Plans) for students with diverse learning needs
  • Maintain discipline in the classroom and work area
  • Develop and grow this CTE program by identifying annual goals and short-term objectives on a regular basis throughout the school year
  • Monitor students’ academic progress
  • Keep abreast of changes in this field by attending professional trainings, reading professional journals and collaborating with local veterinarians
  • Consult regularly with parents, teachers, home school counselors and all others involved with the education of the student
  • Carry out all other duties as assigned

 

TEACHING ASSISTANT; SPE ED65 SPE24

Full-time (1.0 FTE), 7-hour day, 10-month, school calendar position

Students have behavioral management needs and/or physical disabilities.  The teaching assistant must be physically able and willing to meet the academic, emotional and physical needs of all students within the classroom, which may consist of the following:

          *Heavy lifting (50 pounds or more), feeding, assisting with toileting, diapering, physical restraints, escorting, behavior management plans, getting up and down from the floor, walking with the students and getting into the swimming pool with the students.  Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) is required for all Special Education teaching assistant positions.

  • Exemplifies the GST BOCES values of service; leadership; collaboration; and integrity.
  • Assists with the instruction of students.
  • Possesses the stills and demonstrate the ability to instruct the unit plans/lesson plans provided by the teacher in the classroom.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge of Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavioral Intervention Plans. (writing and implementing).
  • Possesses the overall ability to make good decisions. 
  • Has the ability to take the role of the teacher in his/her absence.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be a team player and promote positive and cooperative working relationships.
  • Possesses knowledge of State and Federal Special Education regulations. 
  • Possesses good problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Able to provide instruction following the New York State Common Core Learning Standards.
  • Keeps and records anecdotal records and data on student behavior and academics.
  • Collaborates with all staff involved in the education of the students.
  • Possesses the ability to provide a safe, positive and caring learning environment for all students.

SR ACCOUNT CLERK - CBO24 CBO24

Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 7.5 hours per day, 12 months per year

  • Classifies a variety of receipts and expenditures and distributes items according to a prescribed procedure
  • Reviews and checks complex account keeping records and reports for arithmetical and clerical accuracy, completeness, and proper extension
  • Conducts routine correspondence on matters where policies and procedures are well-defined
  • Works with vendors and departments in processing purchase orders and payments
  • Verifies and reconciles several account balances according to a prescribed procedure
  • Receives invoices by mail, email, or fax, verifies amount, and pays invoices
  • Voids and re-issues checks as needed
  • Prepares routine reports of information taken from journal or ledger
  • May compile and prepare labor, material and operational cost records and reports
  • Operates personal computer, copier, computing, calculator, and other office machines
  • Compiles data for, and prepared and analyzes complex financial and statistical records and reports
  • Assist with recording of cash receipts

Full-time (1.0 FTE), 8 hour day, 12 month position

  • Posts and maintains district accounting records, including capital projects and Federal and State grants.
  • Prepares entries necessary to close accounts at the end of the school year.
  • Prepares financial and statistical reports from accounting records.
  • Prepares state reports.
  • Records and posts summary accounting records on a personal computer.
  • Keeps records of receipts and expenditures and allocates receipts to proper funds.
  • Assists with preparation of cash flow records.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
